Character: Nuanced, fruity flavor with an oak character, hints of dark cherries, chocolate, forest raspberry, black tea and sage. 

Goes well with:
Excellent with the typical specialties of Piedmontese cuisine, such as 'agnolotti', grilled meat, stewed meat and aged seasoned cheeses

About the wine:  The Enzo Bartoli Barbera d'Asti comes from Monferrato, a hilly area between Asti and Alessandria, that extends to the Ligurian Apennines. Soils are calcareous clay, mixed with tufaceous and siliceous rocks. Barbera may be given the Asti appellation Superiore only if it has been aged in oak casks or barrel for at least 14 months.
