Raised on a vineyard and son of Dr. Mike Peterkin (Pierro Wines) and Shelley Cullen (Cullen Wines). Two family names that have both left their mark on Margaret River's history. It seems a given that Nic would one day take over the family business and continue to drive it forward. But Nic wanted to stand on his own two feet, so in 2013 he started L.A.S VINO. In 2013 there was a surplus of grapes in Margaret River. Nic was able to buy grapes from local growers and produce according to his own philosophy. The wine spoke for itself and already in 2016 he was named “Young winemaker of the year” by Gourmet Travelers, one of Australia's leading wine magazines. L.A.S stands for Luck - Art - Science. 3 elements that are all needed to make the perfect wine.
