The Interpertation of an Origin

In 1872, the Raventós family brought Champagne to Spain - today, Pepe Raventós, the 21st generation, brings Mas del Serral to the world. The Clos del Serral vineyard is 1.92 hectares in size. The vineyard was planted in 1954 and is still managed by horse and cart. They use the Xarel-lo and Bastard Negre grapes which are planted side by side around the vineyard. Everything is harvested by hand and the wine is never in contact with oak. Mas del Serral is of course organically grown. The first vintage, released in 2007, was named Catalonia's best wine in all categories and also Catalonia's best sparkling wine.
