In 1868 the Rotschild family bought Château Lafite and laid the foundations for the business, and even today with several other châteaux in the group, people still talk about “The Lafite spirit”. Today, the group includes several renowned châteaux, including Château Duhart-Milon (Pauillac), Château Rieussec (Sauternes Premier Grand Cru Classé) and Château L'Evangile (Pomerol), as well as Viña los Vascos (Chile) and Bodegas Caro (Argentina). It also distributes Château Paradis Casseuil at a more affordable level. Today, DBR is run by Saskia de Rotschild, the daughter of Baron Eric de Rotschild, and has a total of 1200 hectares of vineyards.
