SOUTH AFRICA
Heaven and Earth
Hannes Storm, a proud Burgundy lover, began growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay just outside his hometown of Hermanus, a small fishing village in Hemel-en-Aarde, a unique region with a strong influence from Walker Bay and the Atlantic. Storm Wines is the only producer representing Pinot Noir from all the sub-regions in Hemel-en-Aarde: The Valley, Upper Valley, and The Ridge. Hannes has a philosophy of minimal intervention and sustainability. This embraces the elegance of the wines from a cool climate region in South Africa that is a distant part of the old world in the new world. Storm Wines are sought after both locally and abroad with small allocations that sell quickly to wine lovers and sommeliers who consider Storm Wines a must. This is not as South African wine, but as world-class wine made from Pinot Noir or Chardonnay in a Burgundian style from South Africa. These wines are the highest-ranked wines from South Africa in their style.
