Ricasoli

ITALY

Wine dynasty of 32 generations

Nearly 900 years ago, the Ricasoli family took over Castello di Brolio in the village of Gaiole in Chianti. Throughout history, the Ricasoli family has played a significant role in the development of Chianti, with former Prime Minister Bettino Ricasoli being the one to create the Chianti recipe. The major quality leap came after Francesco Ricasoli took over in 1994 and now, in the 32nd generation in direct descent from the founder, the family business is thriving.

Today, Ricasoli is one of the leading wine companies in Italy, with 250 hectares of vineyards primarily in Chianti and Chianti Classico, offering a wide range of wines. Since 1995, the company has been one of the driving forces behind research on Sangiovese clones, resulting in the launch of several internationally acclaimed top wines.
