Honoring Northern Piedmont

In 1999, Paolo de Marchi and his son Luca laid the foundation for restoring the old family estate in Lessona, with the goal of honoring the nearly forgotten and legendary wines from northern Piedmont. Most of the vineyards are found in Ori (which translates to ‘gold’ in Italian) where the soil is golden-colored at the foot of the alpine mountains.

Proprietà Sperino now owns 8 hectares of vineyards at the foot of Monte Rosa. Six of these are located in Lessona, spread between Belvedere, Ormeggio, Castagnola, Rava, and Covà. The other two are situated in Madonna degli Angeli in Bramaterra. The cellar is located in the old castle in Lessona, whose history dates back 200 years
