In the second half of the 1950s, Alois Gölles, the elder, laid the foundations for today's company by being one of the first farmers in south-western Styria to establish apple orchards. In 1979, it was the turn of his son Alois Gölles, the younger, to further develop the company and the apple orchards on which he himself had literally grown up. He sought new ways to utilize the family's fine fruit and initially a juice and fruit wine production emerged, which was later accompanied by a top quality spirits production. The Gölles family has always adhered to the idea that precision is the mother of all success and nothing is left to chance, so they use only the finest fruit of the harvest and copper distillers in their double distillation.
